Overview What is ChefMate?

ChefMate helps you decide what to cook without spending forever scrolling the internet for ideas.

It's a recipe and meal planning app built for beginners and seasoned home cooks alike. Find meals you'll actually want to make, plan your week ahead, and figure out dinner using whatever's already sitting in your fridge.

ChefMate works great even if you only use one or two features. Start with recipe browsing and add the rest whenever you're ready.

What you can do Everything in one place

Nine ways ChefMate takes the guesswork out of dinner

Discover recipes
Browse thousands of meals by category or cuisine. Explore what's popular or find a classic from a country you love.
Search by mood
Type something like "something warm and comforting" and the app finds recipes that match how you feel right now.
Cook what you have
Snap a photo of your fridge or type your ingredients, and the app suggests meals you can make with what you already own.
Plan your meals
Set up your breakfasts, lunches, and dinners for the whole week. No more last-minute guessing.
Build a shopping list
Add missing ingredients to your grocery list with a tap, then check them off as you shop.
Save your favourites
Bookmark recipes you love so you can come back to them anytime, even when you're offline.
Watch how it's made
Many recipes include a video tutorial so you can follow along step by step, right from your phone.
Dark mode
Cook at night without blinding yourself. Switch to dark mode or let the app follow your phone's setting automatically.
Multiple languages
Use ChefMate in the language you're most comfortable with, switchable anytime from Settings.
Getting started Up and running

You don't need to set anything up - just open the app

1
Browse the home screen
Scroll through the Home tab to see featured recipes, popular today, and categories. Tap anything that looks good to see the full recipe.
2
Save a recipe you like
On any recipe page, tap the heart icon to save it to your Favourites. You can access it from the Favourites tab anytime.
3
Try searching by mood
Tap the search bar on the home screen and switch to AI Search. Type what you feel like eating and see what the app suggests.
4
Add a meal to your planner
From any recipe, tap "Add to Meal Planner" and pick a day and time slot. Then visit the Meal Planner tab to see your week at a glance.
5
Use Pantry Mode when you're unsure
Open the Pantry tab and type or scan the ingredients you have. ChefMate suggests real recipes you can make right now.
Tips For a better experience

A few habits that make ChefMate work harder for you

Reminders
Turn on meal reminders
Go to Settings → Reminders and enable meal reminders. You'll get a nudge at 12 PM and 7 PM so you always have a plan before hunger strikes.
Pantry Mode
Use your camera instead of typing
Take a photo of your fridge or counter and the app scans it, pulling out the ingredients automatically.
Routine
Plan your week on Sunday
A few minutes each Sunday filling in your Meal Planner makes grocery shopping faster and removes the daily "what's for dinner?" stress.
Grocery list
Build the list as you plan
While viewing a recipe, add missing ingredients straight to your grocery list. By the time you're done planning, your list is already ready.
From the developer A personal note

"One app that helps you discover recipes, plan your meals, and use up what you already have at home."

ChefMate started as a personal project - a way to make it easier to decide what to cook without spending forever scrolling through the internet. That one idea is still the whole point of the app.

If ChefMate has made your meal times a little simpler, saved you a trip to the grocery store, or helped you try something new in the kitchen, that's everything this app set out to do.

It's always growing. If you have ideas, feedback, or just want to say hi, I'd love to hear from you.
